About Us

Kalamazoo in Bloom is a nonprofit organization that beautifies public spaces in Kalamazoo and Portage with locally grown plants and flowers, with a special emphasis on annuals. Hundreds of volunteers help on community-wide planting days that take place each May.

Kalamazoo Gardener Position

We are hiring a second gardener to help with the planting and maintenance of the flower beds in downtown Kalamazoo. This is a seasonal, part-time contract position. If you love being outdoors around nature and would like to earn extra income, this could be the job for you from the end of April through early October. Portage Gardener Positions

We are hiring 2 gardeners to help with the planting and maintenance of the Portage flower beds. This is a seasonal, part-time contract position. If you love being outdoors around nature and would like to earn extra income, this could be the job for you from mid-May through the end of September. Planting Days

 

Community involvement is needed to plant and maintain flower beds in Kalamazoo and Portage. Through our many partnerships, over 200 volunteers of all ages help us carry out this mission. View our volunteer opportunities and get involved to help our community thrive with beauty.

Prior to planting days, attend one or more of our open houses to learn about Kalamazoo in Bloom, what we do to beautify our communities, and how volunteer support is essential to our mission. If you are a new volunteer, we encourage you to attend.
